“Carry On” – Fun.

It has been a while now since I started listening to this song. Sometimes songs have the awesome capacity of finding you when you need them. I guess this is the case. I needed something, as everyone. Everyone needs something. Always. I needed strength. Many times we look for strength outside. From relatives, friends, even food. We seek answers, we seek words to tell us “you’re doing fine”, “It’s all right”, “I believe in you”, “you’re great”. Do we really need these words? Yes, they may help. But it is even better to find strength and motivation just in your heart. And on your own. Because words may be empty of meaning and people may be lying. On the other hand, your heart won’t cheat on you.

There are many people who need to be reassured. Maybe I’m one of them. I don’t like being criticized. No one likes it. And I like being supported. I like being liked. Everyone likes it. The thing is that you cannot please everyone. Moreover, people won’t understand. They may try to, they may tell you “oh yes, I do understand”, but no one can actually wear your pants. Be realistic. This is particularly true for parents. They can try to understand, but they won’t grasp 100% of you and your own feelings and the shitty situation you’re in. What they can actually do, however, is accepting you and your choices, giving the support you need, allowing you to make mistakes, fall down, or fly high. More important, the first person that you have to please is yourself. If you are happy with your choices it’s all right. While if you do something so that people will like you, well, then you will not go much further. And you’ll end up living others’ shitty lives.

So CARRY ON. Carry on. Sometimes it is the only thing to do if you don’t wanna sink and fall. And may every fall be the start for an even higher flight.

The first thing is understanding what you wanna be. Then, it’s easy. You know what you want from your life. Go out and try to get it. Try as hard as you can. Don’t be part of all those empty heap of broken images who regret their past and are afraid of their future. Don’t let them push you down. Don’t let them steal your passion. Don’t let them rob your dreams. Life can be different if you want. You have to want it.

Keep it fuckin’ stronger. Keep it wild and free.
